Today marks the start of an exciting new chapter as the newly upgraded Plein Street Library officially reopened its doors to the community.
Following an extensive refurbishment that included structural, electrical, plumbing and interior upgrades, the library now boasts cutting-edge technology, new ICT equipment, excellent facilities for disabled patrons and a refreshed Early Childhood Development (ECD) area where young minds can learn, play and grow.
Mayor Jeremy Fasser, joined by members of the Mayoral Committee, welcomed residents, guests, stakeholders from the library sector and representatives from the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport at the opening event earlier today.
This significant upgrade was made possible through funding from both the municipality and the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport. We extend our sincere thanks for their continued support and valued partnership.
We are delighted to welcome residents back to a brighter, smarter and more modern library experience.
