Stellenbosch – 1 August 20204
In a landmark event for the community of Kayamandi, Municipal Manager Geraldine Mettler and Deputy Mayor Jeremy Fasser were honored guests at the sod-turning ceremony for the new Apex School in Stellenbosch earlier today. Apex Stellenbosch, which opened its doors in January 2024, has welcomed its inaugural group of Grade 8 learners, marking the beginning of an exciting educational journey.
Apex Stellenbosch is set to expand each year, adding at least one grade annually. By 2028, the school will celebrate the graduation of its first cohort of Grade 12 students. This growth plan underscores the school’s commitment to providing continuous, high-quality education to the youth of Kayamandi.
Currently, Apex Stellenbosch serves 97 learners, supported by a dedicated team of six professional staff, including five teachers and the principal.
This institution holds the distinction of being the first private school in Kayamandi, representing a significant milestone for the community.
Ms. Mettler and Mr. Fasser expressed their gratitude to Ms. van de Rhede for her invitation to the ceremony and for her incredible investment in the community. The establishment of Apex Stellenbosch is a testament to the power of education in transforming lives and fostering a brighter future for all.
The entire community looks forward to witnessing the positive impact Apex Stellenbosch will have on its students and the broader area in the years to come.
