๐ŸŒณ Yesterday, Ward 22 Councillor Esther Groenewald and Ward 8 Councillor Zelda Dalling joined representatives of Visit Stellenbosch and the Stellenbosch Art Mile to plant new trees and walk along the beautiful Art Mile. Fifteen new pin oaks were planted at the historic Agricultural Hall, adding to the charm of this iconic space. Stellenbosch lies roughly 50 km to the east of Cape Town and is - after the Mother City - the oldest town in South Africa.

The 900 square kilometres municipal area is internationally renowned for its beautiful environment, many places of interest, wine farms, street cafes, restaurants, quality wines, historical buildings and excellent educational institutions.

The major portion of the area is utilised for agriculture (mainly wine production) and it includes the major towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek as well as settlements such as Klapmuts, Koelenhof, Kylemore, Johannesdal, Pniel, Kayamandi, Cloetesville, Ida’s Valley, Jamestown and Raithby.
