🌧️⚠️ Heavy Downpours Expected, Wemmershoek Dam Being Carefully Monitored

Due to the predicted heavy rains this weekend, we are issuing an alert for the area downstream of the Wemmershoek Dam. The highest rainfall is expected between 1 PM and 3 PM on Saturday, 27 July 2024.

Given these conditions, it is likely that the sluice gate at the dam will open to Stage 4 (105 m³/s). Depending on the rainfall intensities, the sluices may be opened to higher stages, potentially reaching Stage 5 (133 m³/s) by late afternoon.

We urge all community members to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. Please stay informed by monitoring warnings and updates from your local municipalities.
