Our Acting Municipal Manager, Director Gary Boshoff, is stepping up and visiting multiple areas to personally assess the storm damages. We are committed to fixing what we can as quickly as possible to support our community.

The Mayor and several Mayco members are also on the ground, looking for ways the municipality can provide assistance wherever it’s needed.

Welcome

Stellenbosch lies roughly 50 km to the east of Cape Town and is - after the Mother City - the oldest town in South Africa.

The 900 square kilometres municipal area is internationally renowned for its beautiful environment, many places of interest, wine farms, street cafes, restaurants, quality wines, historical buildings and excellent educational institutions.

The major portion of the area is utilised for agriculture (mainly wine production) and it includes the major towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek as well as settlements such as Klapmuts, Koelenhof, Kylemore, Johannesdal, Pniel, Kayamandi, Cloetesville, Ida’s Valley, Jamestown and Raithby.
