#CapeStorm Over the last few days, the Municipality has been overwhelmed with requests from residents and businesses who want to help out where they can and we deeply appreciate this. A dedicated drop-off point has been set up at the Stellenbosch Fire Station for anyone who wishes to donate potable water, non-perishable food, and blankets for those residents in need. Thank you for being the best, Stellenbosch! πŸ‘πŸ₯°

Our teams are still working round the clock to get roads open, electricity reinstated and water supply restored in several areas in and around Franschhoek. Mayor Gesie van Deventer will also be visiting the area today to lend a hand to our teams on the ground and to assess the damage. #CapeStorm

Stellenbosch lies roughly 50 km to the east of Cape Town and is - after the Mother City - the oldest town in South Africa.

The 900 square kilometres municipal area is internationally renowned for its beautiful environment, many places of interest, wine farms, street cafes, restaurants, quality wines, historical buildings and excellent educational institutions.

The major portion of the area is utilised for agriculture (mainly wine production) and it includes the major towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek as well as settlements such as Klapmuts, Koelenhof, Kylemore, Johannesdal, Pniel, Kayamandi, Cloetesville, Ida’s Valley, Jamestown and Raithby.
