Stellenbosch Municipality proudly celebrated its annual Long Service Awards Ceremony this past week (Friday, 25 May), recognising the exceptional dedication of staff who have devoted 10, 15, 20, 30, and even over 35 years to public service.

The ceremony honoured municipal officials from various departments – including engineering services, disaster management, fire and rescue, traffic, community development and communications and corporate service – who have worked tirelessly to ensure continuous and quality service delivery to all residents.

Executive Mayor Jeremy Fasser praised the commitment of the long-serving staff:
“These are the people who often work long and irregular hours — after hours, over weekends and during holidays — to ensure essential services continue for our residents. From water to electricity, area cleaning to disaster management, traffic services to fire services, communication services to community development — their dedication keeps our municipality running all year round.”
