Today marks a significant milestone for the Cloetesville community as Mayor Gesie van Deventer, Deputy Mayor Jeremy Fasser, Municipal Manager Geraldine Mettler, and Ward Councillor Peter Johnson proudly celebrated the official opening of the new Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) building.

The new building will serve as a central hub for the NHW, providing a base of operations where members can be easily accessible to residents, coordinate efforts with municipal law enforcement, and maintain strong connections with the South African Police Service (SAPS). This facility is a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of working together to create a safer environment for all.

The municipality has played a crucial role in supporting this initiative by allocating this property for use by the NHW and by upgrading the facility. Furthermore, we are committed to providing the NHW with the necessary resources to continue their vital work.

Mayor Gesie van Deventer expressed her deep gratitude to the NHW members for their unwavering dedication and willingness to serve. “Your commitment to patrolling our streets and safeguarding our community is commendable. This new building is not just a structure; it is a symbol of our collective effort to ensure the safety and well-being of every resident in Cloetesville.”

We look forward to the positive impact this facility will have on our community. The NHW’s presence and active engagement are critical to maintaining a secure and thriving environment. We encourage all residents to support and collaborate with the NHW in their mission to keep Cloetesville safe.
