Today, Mayor Gesie van Deventer and Municipal Manager Geraldine Mettler extended a warm welcome to councilors and representatives from the Jönköping Municipality (Jönköpings kommun) of Sweden.
The delegation is currently in Stellenbosch for a working visit focused on exchanging insights and best practices related to gender equality, human rights, and public safety.
As part of their visit, the delegation has been actively exploring various municipal sites, schools, and organizations within the broader Stellenbosch Municipal area. This collaborative effort is facilitated through the partnership established under the Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD), specifically within the ICLD Human Rights Network.
The ongoing engagement seeks to foster constructive discussions and the exchange of valuable best practices, contributing to the shared goals and responsibilities of both municipalities.
