The Stellenbosch Municipality is in the process of preparing a Comprehensive Integrated Transport Plan (CITP) to develop, manage, integrate, and provide for all modes of transport in its areas of jurisdiction. It seeks to enhance the effective functioning of the town and surrounding rural areas through integrated planning of transport infrastructure, facilities and operations within the context of the Municipality’s IDP and land development objectives. This includes planning for the role of non-motorised forms of transport such as walking and cycling and encourage sustainable modes of transport such as public transport and increased numbers of passengers per vehicle.
