The Building Development Management (BDM) Section regulates all building work within the Stellenbosch municipal area in accordance with the National Building Regulations.

The BDM Section is responsible for overseeing building development to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, safety standards, and municipal requirements.

We support safe and orderly development by assessing building plans, conducting inspections, and enforcing regulatory compliance.

The Building Development Management Section plays a vital role in safeguarding the community. While much of our work happens behind the scenes, every approved plan and inspection contributes to ensuring that buildings are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
