The Building Development Management (BDM) Section regulates all building work within the Stellenbosch municipal area in accordance with the National Building Regulations.
The BDM Section is responsible for overseeing building development to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, safety standards, and municipal requirements.
We support safe and orderly development by assessing building plans, conducting inspections, and enforcing regulatory compliance.

Our Responsibilities
- Review and process building plan applications
- Conduct site inspections during construction
- Ensure compliance with National Building Regulations
- Enforce corrective measures where necessary
