TENDER FOR BSM 46/22: CONSTRUCTION OF THE LA TERRA 11KV SWITCHING STATION IN THE FRANSCHHOEK AREA OF STELLENBOSCH

CLOSING DATE:        20 June 2022

CLOSING TIME:         12h00: Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers or Supply Chain Management Boardroom. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, opening of tenders                                       to the public will not take place, but the opening register will be posted on the municipal website, immediately thereafter.

CIDB :                        Class of Construction Works: 6 EP or higher.

 A Compulsory Clarification Meeting will be held on Friday,03 June 2022 at 10h00 on site at the Municipality’s office located at La Rochelle Street, Franschhoek with GPS co-ordinates: -33.91034068147589, 19.119881786168783. Prospective tenderers shall register with the Consulting Engineer, Mr. Thinus Van As and Mr. Vuyisile Lloyd, via e-mail at thinus.vanAs@smec.com and Vuyisile Lloyd at Vuyisile.Lloyd@smec.com and provide the necessary contact details (email address and cell phone number) at least 48 hours prior to the meeting but no later than end of business on Wednesday, 01 June 2022,  after which the total number of attendees can be confirmed. All Covid-19 protocols shall be followed during the Clarification Meeting, this includes wearing of Masks all the time, maintaining social distance and sanitizing of hands. Due to the Covid-19 health risks, only 1 attendee per tenderer will be allowed at the Clarification Meeting. No unregistered persons will be allowed into the meeting and tenderers who fail to attend the compulsory information session will be regarded as non-compliant.

Local production and content is applicable to this bid. Bidders must use the exchange rate published by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) at 12:00 on 21 May 2022. The guidance document for the calculation of local content is included in the bid document and is also available on the municipality’s website by following the Supply Chain Management link. If raw material or input to be used for a specific item is not available locally, bidders should obtain written authorisation from the dti should there be a need to import such raw material or input. A copy of the authorisation letter must be submitted together with this tender document at the closing date and time of bid. Please note that the requirements in terms of local production and content are fully contained in the tender document.
